On the 5 April 2022 the Devon Children and Families Partners met with the Chair of the Executive, Darryn Allcorn (Chief Nurse for Clinical Commissioning Group NHS Devon).
The event was organised for the community of intra-agency projects (subgroups) that have worked together to develop our vision for children to provide the right support at the right time in the right place. These sub-groups, together with communities, families, young people and children, ensure that we build resilience and strengths that keep children safe, well, learning and thriving.
Each group provided a report on their strategic work, outlining needs, achievements, challenges and requirements this year. Opportunities to check, connect and challenge progress together were key to the success of the event.
Representation across statutory, universal and community and voluntary sector enriched the conversations, developing a collaborative and common language to help us focus on the steps we need to take to move forward at pace as we come out of two years of a national pandemic.
Feedback from the event has been very positive. Attendees feeling a greater sense of understanding of the work across the Partnership and opportunities to integrate our response to children to make Devon a child friendly county.
