Carers’ Week: Monday 10 June – Sunday 16 June 2019
It’s Carers’ Week, 10-16 June 2019, with events planned across the county.
The theme this year is ‘Getting Carers Better Connected’; better connected to support that’s available to them, and to other professionals. And better connected to other carers who, like them, are voluntarily providing care to a loved one or friend.
The events have been arranged by Devon Carers, which provides a range of carers’ support on behalf of Devon County Council and NHS Devon. The Carers Trust are also supporting the events.
Events are planned in:
East Devon, Mid Devon and Exeter, including Exmouth, Honiton, Ottery St Mary, Sidmouth, Seaton, Budleigh Salterton, Crediton and Exeter.
South Devon and Teignmouth, including Dartington, Ivybridge, Kingsbridge, Bovey Tracey, Newton Abbot, Dawlish and Ipplepen.
North Devon, West Devon and Torridge, including Tavistock, Barnstaple, Bideford, South Molton, Okehampton, Lymouth and Torrington.
The events provide opportunities for carers, with drop-in sessions and information about the range of support that is available to them in Devon, and the chance to meet and chat with other carers.
Events also include an advice and craft session at Killerton House and Gardens (10 June), and a trip for carers to RHS Garden Rosemoor (12 June).
