portive\, engaging space.  The sessions will explore how racism and oppre
ssion shape the lived experiences of Black and minoritised victims and sur
vivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence. It shines a light on the rea
lities behind the statistics and challenges us to think differently about
our roles as practitioners.\n\nWe know that Black and minoritised victims
and survivors are:\n\n More likely to remain in abusive situations for lo
nger\n At greater risk of domestic homicide\n More likely to experience
multiple perpetrators\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nAt the same time\, they are:\n\n Less
likely to be referred for support\n Less likely to have cases progress t
o the CPS\n Less likely to be referred to MARAC\n More likely to experie
nce discriminatory responses from services\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nWho is this cours
e for?  It’s suitable for professionals working with children\, young p
eople\, and families across Devon\, including those in the:\n\n Statutory
  sector (e.g. social care\, health\, police\, education)\n Voluntary and
 community sector\n 	Private sector services supporting families\n\n&nbsp\;
\n\nIt is particularly relevant for practitioners who:\n\n Work with or s
upport victims and survivors of domestic abuse or sexual violence\n Want
to strengthen their understanding of the impact of racism and oppression\n
Are looking to develop more culturally responsive and inclusive practice
\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nLearning outcomes\n\n Deepen your understanding of how rac
ism and oppression impact victims and survivors\n Recognise inequalities
in access to support and outcomes\n Build confidence in responding to dom
estic abuse and sexual violence in diverse communities\n Reflect on your
practice and challenge bias\n Strengthen culturally responsive approaches
\n Take practical steps to improve support and outcomes\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nWhe
ther you’re experienced or newer to this area\, the training offers valu
able insights and practical learning to support your role.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nT
