SUMMARY:Children Affected by Parental (or Familial) Imprisonment Awareness 
 Training
DESCRIPTION:All sessions will be delivered on-line\, via Microsoft Teams\n\
 nDates and Times:\n\n5th December 2024 – 10am to 1pm\n\n12th December 20
 24 – 10am to 1pm\n\n21st January 2025 – bitesize lunchtime webinar –
  12 to 1pm\n\n23rd January 2025 – 12.30 to 3.30pm\n\n28th January 2025 
 – bitesize twilight webinar – 4 to 5pm\n\n This multi-agency training
  will be delivered by Children Heard and Seen (CHAS)\, a charity based in 
 Oxfordshire who support children\, young people and their families who are
  impacted by parental imprisonment. Children Heard and Seen over the past 
 eight years have worked alongside 435 families and over 110 children and y
 oung people. They listen to the voices of children\, and young people and 
 train professionals and volunteers to support them as well as working to c
 hange policy nationally. For more information about CHAS go to Who we are 
 - Children Heard and Seen\n\n Through raising awareness and confidence fo
 r attendees\, children and young people will receive support from adults t
 hat helps to reduce their sense of shame and stigma\, help them process th
 eir complex and confusing feelings\, and support them to hold on to hope a
 nd realise their full potential\n\nThe sessions will provide:\n\n 	An incr
 eased awareness of the issue of parental imprisonment\, the range of impac
 ts on children and young people (and their families)\, the types of suppor
 t that children may need to lessen these impacts.\n 	Confidence to engage 
 with children (and the parent who is caring for them) about their experien
 ces\, thereby providing a safe space for young people to process their fee
 lings\, and to feel heard and understood.\n 	Ability to talk confidently t
 o colleagues and other professionals about children affected by parental (
 or familial) imprisonment\n 	A supportive environment to challenge unconsc
 ious bias and non-judgemental curiosity in yours and others’ attitudes\n
  	There will be opportunities for small and whole group discussions.\n 	Ca
 se studies based on real experiences will be used.\n 	There is a maximum n
 umber of 24 places on each session.\n 	The session will not be recorded.\n
 \nThe lunchtime and twilight sessions are for staff who are unable to acce
 ss the 3-hour training\, for example\; teachers\, and school staff\, GPs a
 nd primary care staff\, Mental health practitioners\, senior leaders\, loc
 al councillors. There is no limit on numbers for these shorter webinars.\n
