DESCRIPTION:First Thursdays\n\nA FREE monthly online 3-hour workshop open t
 o all in response to Black Lives Matter – It’s time to talk about raci
 sm – but how? with Alasdair Cant and Amrik Panaser\n\nThursday 1st Decem
 ber AM or PM\n\nBlack Lives Matter and the Covid-19 pandemic have once mor
 e shed light on structural and individual Inequalities in wider society an
 d at work. Many\nindividuals and organisations want to find real\, positiv
 e and constructive ways to\nengage in:\n\n• Difficult or uncomfortable c
 onversations about race\n• Developing better connections with and to eac
 h other\n• Supporting dialogue rather than competing monologues\n\nUsing
  a Motivational Interviewing approach\, we believe these conversations can
  change the dynamic to make a significant impact leading to real and posit
 ive change. This workshop is for anyone who is impatient with circular con
 versations around race and wants to influence anti-racist practice and pos
 itive action in the\nworkplace.\n\nAim of the Workshop\n\nTo explore key M
 I skills to be able to have more constructive conversations around racism\
 n\nObjectives\n\n• To explore a brief history of racism in the UK\n• T
 o outline key Motivational Interviewing approaches and how these can\nchan
 ge difficult conversations\n• To reflect on our own individual and corpo
 rate biases\n• To provide an opportunity for skills practice in a safe l
