SUMMARY:Recognising and Responding to Neglect (Group 3)
DESCRIPTION:\n\nThis training is a Special Interest Refresher\, this can be
  attended in addition to your usual Group 3 training/refresher. This is at
 tended via Zoom.\n\nMembers of the workforce who work predominantly with c
 hildren\, young people and/or their parents and carers and who could poten
 tially contribute to assessing\, planning\, intervening and reviewing the 
 needs of a child and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding conce
 rns.  For example\, paediatricians\, GPs\, midwives\, school nurses\, nur
 ses\, health visitors\, residential staff\, teachers\, youth workers\, pro
 bation staff\, sports club welfare offices\, church\, faith and uniformed 
 groups\, those working with adults in\, for example\, learning disability\
 , mental health\, alcohol and drug misuse services and the police.\n\nAt t
 he end of the session delegates will be able to:\n\n 	Recognise and respon
 d to the signs and symptoms of neglect\n 	Feel informed about the tools an
 d resources available to support you to recognise and respond to neglect\n
  	Understand the impact of both short and long term (cumulative) neglect o
 n children and adolescents\n 	Be more confident to work with families in a
  way which effectively supports them to address neglect\n 	Understand the 
 importance of having courageous conversations with families about neglect 
 and poor parental care\n 	Identify the key features of assessing neglect e
 ffectively\n 	Implement appropriate interventions to reduce the risk and p
 revent cases from drifting\n 	Recognise the changing features of neglect w
 ith the age of the child\n\nCancellation Policy – unless there are exte
 nuating circumstances\, you will be charged if you don’t attend or if yo
 u cancel your place less than 4 weeks before the training date. Even if th
 e training is fully funded by the Devon Safeguarding Children Partnership 
 (DSCP)\, we still maintain the right to charge as non-attendance prevents 
 someone else from attending. We will invoice your organisation for £130 .
 \n\nThis course is fully-funded for Partners (including Health (NHS)\, Edu
 cation (EY)\, Children Services\, Probation). Other organisations may have
  to pay (please check if you are funded). We charge £130 for late cancell
