SUMMARY:Recognising and Responding to Neglect (Group 3)
DESCRIPTION:\n\nThis training is a Special Interest Refresher\, this can be
  attended in addition to your usual Group 3 training/refresher. This is at
 tended via Zoom.\n\nNow called - Making Sense of Neglect\n\nMembers of the
  workforce who work predominantly with children\, young people and/or thei
 r parents and carers and who could potentially contribute to assessing\, p
 lanning\, intervening and reviewing the needs of a child and parenting cap
 acity where there are safeguarding concerns.  For example\, paediatrician
 s\, GPs\, midwives\, school nurses\, nurses\, health visitors\, residentia
 l staff\, teachers\, youth workers\, probation staff\, sports club welfare
  offices\, church\, faith and uniformed groups\, those working with adults
  in\, for example\, learning disability\, mental health\, alcohol and drug
  misuse services and the police.\n\nAt the end of the session delegates wi
 ll be able to:\n\n 	Recognise and respond to the signs and symptoms of neg
 lect\n 	Feel informed about the tools and resources available to support y
 ou to recognise and respond to neglect\n 	Understand the impact of both sh
 ort and long term (cumulative) neglect on children and adolescents\n 	Be m
 ore confident to work with families in a way which effectively supports th
 em to address neglect\n 	Understand the importance of having courageous co
 nversations with families about neglect and poor parental care\n 	Identify
  the key features of assessing neglect effectively\n 	Implement appropriat
 e interventions to reduce the risk and prevent cases from drifting\n 	Reco
 gnise the changing features of neglect with the age of the child\n\nCancel
 lation Policy – unless there are extenuating circumstances\, you will be
  charged if you don’t attend or if you cancel your place less than 2 wee
 ks before the training date. Even if the training is fully funded by the D
 evon Safeguarding Children Partnership (DSCP)\, we still maintain the righ
 t to charge as non-attendance prevents someone else from attending. We wil
 l invoice your organisation for £130 .\n\nThis course is fully-funded for
  Partners (including Health (NHS)\, Education (EY)\, Children Services\, P
 robation). Other organisations may have to pay (please check if you are fu
 nded). We charge £130 for late cancellation or non-attendance.\n\nIf you
