Togetherness (Solihull) Training – 2‑Day Foundation Training for Practitioners

As part of Devon’s Best Start in Life development work, we are pleased to offer free Togetherness (Solihull) training to practitioners and managers across our partnership.

We are seeking to embed Togetherness as our shared, countywide foundation and approach when supporting families with children, aligned with Devon County Council’s Restorative Practice Framework. The Solihull/Togetherness model compliments and strengthens our restorative way of working by placing relationships, emotional understanding and family-led change at the centre of practice. Together, these approaches provide a coherent, relational and evidence-based framework that supports consistent practice across universal, targeted and specialist services, ensuring families experience respectful, supportive and joined-up responses wherever they access help.

This work is a key component of our Best Start in Life programme and is integral to our ambition to support more children to achieve a Good Level of Development (GLD) when they start reception. By developing a common language, shared understanding and consistent practice across the system, this approach will also support Devon to meet national priorities and targets set out by Government.

From September 2026, training will be available for practitioners and managers, providing a strong foundation in the approach, the delivery of parenting programmes, and the opportunity to undertake Train the Trainer in the Togetherness Foundation and Parenting offer, supporting the long-term sustainability of the programme in Devon.
