VOYC – Group 2 Awareness in Safeguarding Training
VOYC are running child protection courses over the summer and autumn.
Date: Wed 10 July, 13.00pm – 16.30pm AND Wed 25 September, 13.00pm – 16.30pm
Venue: 100 Club, Countess Wear, Exeter EX2 7EH
Price: £25 for VOYC members/£30 for non-members
The Awareness in Safeguarding course aims to increase understanding of child protection processes and improve practitioners’ confidence.
The courses are designed for:
- Those who work regularly with children and young people
- Those who work with staff in a position to identify concerns, and who may be expected to contribute to the assessment of a child’s developmental needs
At the end of the session, participants will have:
- A better understanding of the legislative frameworks and guidance in safeguarding children and young people
- A greater awareness of the types of abuse and neglect which children and young people may experience, its impact, and how to recognise the signs and indicators
- A clear understanding of what do if someone has concerns about a child in Devon or if a child makes a disclosure
- An improved knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of individuals and organisations
- A greater awareness of child protection processes, including: identification, responding, recording and reporting
