Free webinar about safer sleeping

The NCMD (National Child Mortality Database) are hosting a free virtual webinar on safer sleeping.

The event – called ‘Safer sleeping: What do we know about sleeping arrangements and sudden infant deaths?’ – will take place from 11am to 12.15pm on Thursday 22 September.

In this free webinar, Peter Fleming, Professor of Infant Health and Developmental Physiology at the University of Bristol, will give an update on current research on the link between sudden, unexpected deaths and sleep in children. This will include an overview of sudden infant death syndrome, safe sleeping guidance, whether and when co-sleeping should be considered a modifiable factor in a child’s death, and what is known about the risks of co-sleeping in certain scenarios (for example, on a sofa or armchair).

Please refer to the NCMD website for more information and to register for a place.
