Takeover Challenge 2019 comes to Devon
Formerly Takeover Day, Takeover Challenge is a national event. It was previously led by the Children’s Commissioner for England and, since 2018, has been led by First News.
The event offers children and young people the chance to work with adults and get involved in decision-making. Through this, children gain a valuable insight and gain experience of a workplace, while organisations benefit from a fresh perspective on their work.
New experiences
Previously, children have stepped into the shoes of a wide range of jobs, including everything from MPs, Mayors, TV presenters and teachers, to chief executives, business leaders and government officials.
Takeover Challenge is growing rapidly , with over 100,000 children have taking part in the last two years alone. However, on Friday 29th November 2019, we would like to make it more popular than ever across Devon.
Get involved
Our challenge is for teams, services and partners in Devon to create opportunities within their own organisation where children and young people are supported and enabled to making meaningful decisions about the services that they use.
If you would like to get involved or find out more, please contact Rob Elkins (Participation Team Manager) by e-mailing rob.elkins@devon.gov.uk.
