Domestic Abuse Commissioner’s Babies, Children and Young Person’s policy report: webinar on research findings from ‘Tell Nicole’
The Office of the Domestic Abuse Commissioner is holding a series of webinars following the publication of her first policy report on children. Centred around children’s voices, the report brings together policy, practice and research to turn the spotlight on the legal status of children as victims in their own right, as enshrined in Section 3 of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021.
The reports are supported by a suite of recommendations aimed to improve statutory and multiagency responses to children, including prevention, early intervention and recovery.
This session is the first of two sessions that will focus on the methodology and findings from the new research that informed the Victims in their own right? policy report. Tell Nicole is the Domestic Abuse Commissioner’s framework for engaging children and young people affected by domestic abuse. The DAC office will be hosting a range of thematic webinars on their Babies, Children and Young Person’s policy report. Please see information in your invite for details. Each webinar has a different code and registration link.
During this webinar we will describe:
· The background and development of the framework.
· Our learning from piloting Tell Nicole
· Themes emerging from Tell Nicole: Our feelings matter
· Impact of Tell Nicole so far
