About

How we work

Children and young people in Devon are best safeguarded when key agencies work together effectively. The Devon Safeguarding Children Partnership (Devon SCP) is designed to help make this happen.

Our safeguarding arrangements

In response to Working Together to Safeguarding Children 2018, the Devon SCP partners – Devon County Council, NHS Devon ICB, and Devon & Cornwall Police – agreed and published our local Safeguarding Arrangements for Children and Young People in Devon.

This details how we:

Please note that our safeguarding arrangements are currently being updated in response to Working Together 2023. These will be published by December 2024.

Our policies and procedures

Please refer to our policies and procedures page. Our practice is based on the following current legislation and statutory guidance.

Our subgroups

The Devon SCP work with local subgroups, locality forums and have collaborative arrangements with the South West Peninsula Local Safeguarding Children Partnerships. A breakdown of these groups is available here.

Our business team

Our business team is a small group of people who support the Devon SCP to carry out its core functions, including the subgroups, learning reviews and delivering training.

You can contact the business team by using the form below. Please do not use this form to make urgent safeguarding enquiries.
