Children and young people in Devon are best safeguarded when key agencies work together effectively. The Devon Safeguarding Children Partnership (Devon SCP) is designed to help make this happen.
We will always aim to help children and families be more resilient, strengthen relationships and build social connections and are committed to working together to:
- Listen, hear and understand
- Get under the surface to understand what is driving your problems
- Help you help yourself through information, advice and support as early as possible
- Support your whole family & build on your strengths where needed
- Be flexible, adaptable and personalised
- Work in ways that are right for you with support that is integrated and community-based
Our safeguarding arrangements
In response to Working Together to Safeguarding Children, the Devon SCP partners – Devon County Council, NHS Devon ICB, and Devon & Cornwall Police – agreed and published our local Safeguarding Arrangements for Children and Young People in Devon.
This details how we:
- work together to identify and respond to the needs of children in the area
- commission and publish local child safeguarding practice review
- make sure the effectiveness of the arrangements are independently scrutinised.
Please note that our safeguarding arrangements are currently being updated in response to Working Together 2023. These will be published by December 2024.
