What is the webinar about?

Crossing the Line is a powerful short film that asks its audience to rethink how they see victims and perpetrators when tackling county lines and gang involvement. It posits the notion of ‘Alpha Victims’ – victims who become perpetrators through fear, intimidation or debt bondage. This webinar provides a unique opportunity to experience the film alongside peers from across all services, and to be part of a dialogue that has the potential to shift perceptions, and encourage change across safeguarding, education, and justice systems.

As well as a screening of the film, there will also be chance to hear from project leads Dr Laura Bainbridge and Dr Amy Loughery, to discuss what her research tells us about victims and perpetrators, and the need for a cohesive, joined up response from multi-agency teams

Who is this webinar for?

If you’re a safeguarding practitioner, social worker, family practitioner, educator, in the criminal justice system, or work with youth in the community, this webinar will offer you a space to reflect, connect, and commit to improving the response to these ‘Alpha Victims’.
