The NWG Diversity Forum is designed for professionals and partners committed to safeguarding children and families from marginalised communities.
The Violence Intervention Project (VIP) works at the intersection of relationships, risk, and resilience, supporting young people affected by violence, trauma, and marginalisation and will deliver a thought-provoking session as part of their Shame Initiative.
About the session
- What shame is and how it influences behaviour
- How unintentional shaming responses can shut down communication and erode trust
- The connection between shame and engagement
- Practical tools to support shame-informed practice
Most importantly, it will consider how practitioners can work differently – using approaches that build connection, open dialogue, and support meaningful change.
