FREE half-day Anti-Racism and MI Workshop with Alasdair Cant and Amrik Panaser
First Thursdays
A FREE monthly online 3-hour workshop open to all in response to Black Lives Matter – It’s time to talk about racism – but how? with Alasdair Cant and Amrik Panaser
Thursday 1st December AM or PM
Black Lives Matter and the Covid-19 pandemic have once more shed light on structural and individual Inequalities in wider society and at work. Many
individuals and organisations want to find real, positive and constructive ways to
engage in:
• Difficult or uncomfortable conversations about race
• Developing better connections with and to each other
• Supporting dialogue rather than competing monologues
Using a Motivational Interviewing approach, we believe these conversations can change the dynamic to make a significant impact leading to real and positive change. This workshop is for anyone who is impatient with circular conversations around race and wants to influence anti-racist practice and positive action in the
workplace.
Aim of the Workshop
To explore key MI skills to be able to have more constructive conversations around racism
Objectives
• To explore a brief history of racism in the UK
• To outline key Motivational Interviewing approaches and how these can
change difficult conversations
• To reflect on our own individual and corporate biases
• To provide an opportunity for skills practice in a safe learning space
To book your free workshop place and receive the Zoom link for morning (9.30-12.30pm) OR afternoon (1.30-4.30pm), please email Lydia Marriott at admin@cambridgetraining.org
