Every Baby Matters – No agency holds the whole picture

The full picture of a baby’s life rarely sits with one service.
Midwives, health visitors, GPs, schools, social workers, police, housing teams and community organisations may each see a different part of a family’s journey.
Effective safeguarding relies on agencies:
- Sharing relevant information appropriately
- Identifying patterns and unresolved concerns
- Understanding barriers to engagement
- Considering risks together, not separately
- Coordinating support and follow-up
When we work together, we are better placed to understand family life and keep babies safe.
This post is part of our Every Baby Matters campaign, which brings together guidance and resources to help keep Devon’s babies safe. You’ll find more information and resources in our Every Baby Matters bulletin.
