Safeguarding Supervision Training
This course helps structure and approach supervision using an established supervision model to empower staff and focus on the experience and progress of young people. Designed by highly experienced senior managers, the course addresses key dilemmas in balancing the needs of the organisation, the employee and the young people to create a different kind of conversation which both supervisees and supervisors find effective.
Dates: 24th and 25th November 2025 and 10th and 11th February 2025
Timings: Delivered over 2 days, running 9:30am to 4pm on both dates.
Key Learning Objectives:
- To equip supervisors with the skills and confidence to support and challenge workers to better understand risk and the quality of work being undertaken with children and families
- Understand the principles behind supervision models
- Recognise and apply reflective supervision
- Undertake dynamic risk assessment during supervision
- Create clear, focused, and reviewable plans and actions
Requirements and Target Audience:
- Suitable for staff and volunteers who work at managerial/supervisor level with practitioners who manage/supervise staff in most settings that involve direct work with children and young people.
- No pre-course learning is required

What do I need to know about this course?
- The course is delivered on-line over two days – you must attend both days to receive a certificate of completion.
- It is delivered by our commissioned training provider, Dialogue
- the link to attend the training on-line will be sent by Dialogue, our training providers – please look out for this
- The training is not recorded so you do need to attend from 9.30am to 4pm.
- A cancellation or non-attendance fee may be charged (see Terms and Conditions below).
Cancellations and Non-Attendance – Terms & Conditions
- Cancellations – you or your organisation will be charged if we don’t receive your cancellation at least 2 weeks before the training date. You can arrange for someone to take you place if you can’t attend.
- Non-attendance – if you don’t turn up or arrive late/leave early, we reserve the right to charge you or your organisation.
- What will I be charged? £130 for a full-day course and £65 for a half day course
- Extenuating Circumstances – you will not be charged if there are circumstances beyond your control which have had an impact on your ability to attend a course. Generally, these are circumstances of a medical or personal nature that are out of your control, and which could not be prevented. They must have had a significant impact on your ability to attend, for example, significant illness, bereavement, having to attend court, being a victim of crime or another acute trauma. It is important to remember that only the most serious extenuating circumstances will be considered.
