The Achieving Best Evidence (ABE) protocol is used for gathering evidence from vulnerable witnesses, particularly children and adults at risk, during criminal investigations. It provides best practice guidance on conducting interviews in a way that is fair, ethical, and legally robust, ensuring that evidence is admissible in court.
